“Budovich complied with Sapona, prepared more than 1,700 pages of documents and gave a roughly four-hour affidavit,” the lawsuit said.
Budovich said in the case that “there were enough documents to identify all the account transactions related to the Ellipse Rally from December 19, 2020 to January 31, 2021”.
“The selection committee seeks to compel Mr. Pudovich’s financial institution to provide personal banking information to the select committee, which has no legal authority.
In its Sapona letter, the group stated that Budovic “requested the 501c (4) system to conduct a social media and radio advertising campaign to promote the Ellipse rally on January 6 and to make unsubstantiated claims about the outcome of the election.”
The panel cited information in the group’s file to claim that Budovich sent approximately $ 200,000 from a source or sources to 501 (c) (4), which “did not inform the company to pay for the advertising campaign.”
Budovic was a senior adviser on the Trump 2020 campaign, particularly working with Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend Kimberly Gilfoyle. He is a long-time right-wing political activist who served as Ron Desantis’ senior communications adviser during the successful campaign for governor of Florida in 2018 and once as executive director of the Tea Party Express.
