Xbox makes its Wonka-themed console entirely out of chocolate

Xbox has just announced a new version of one of its most popular gaming peripherals, this time produced in partnership with Warner Bros. To celebrate an upcoming movie. I’m talking about an Xbox controller made entirely of chocolate. No, you can’t actually play games with him. Yes, you can eat it, because it is made from 100% chocolate. And of course, it’s wrapped in a gold wrapper – a nod to the infamous golden tickets that Charlie and his pals had to find in order to enter Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. The movie is called Wonkais an introduction to Roald Dahl’s classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory It stars Timothée Chalamet as the chocolatier himself.

It’s been a year full of huge collaborations with really strong brands, and this is especially true for brand names that appeal to kids. Some were comprehensive, like the inevitable number of Barbie-branded items, from hair clips to swim floats to included rotating blades. And of course, Super Mario Bros movie Opening up the opportunity for a lot of new games and gaming merchandise.

I don’t know specifically what types of branded goods I was expecting Wonka. I assumed, of course, that there would be candy, even chocolate, perhaps in a gold wrapper. But chocolate in the shape of an Xbox controller? Do we think Chalamet will be a Willy Wonka player? If so, I assume Xbox would be his console of choice.
