NVIDIA is preparing mass production of two AD104 ‘Ada’ GPUs, possibly the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti

It looks like NVIDIA is getting ready to start mass production of two brand new AD104 GPUs, presumably for the Geforce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 & RTX 4060 Ti GPU Mass Production Possibly Start Next Month Use AD104 ‘Ada’ Cut GPUs

Based on the information we received from our sources, it looks like NVIDIA will be producing two brand new GPUs for its upcoming GeForce RTX 40 Desktop lineup. These SKUs are based on the AD104 template, which is the same template used to run Recently introduced GeForce RTX 4070 Ti And while that fully utilizes the enabled chip, these new templates will be greatly reduced.

Starting with chips, we have NVIDIA AD104-250 and AD104-251. The die used in the RTX 4070 Ti is AD104-400-A1 so you can guess how much of a trim chip we might get. What’s interesting is that the chip’s naming 251/250 makes it sound like they’ll be configured very similarly though that’s not clear yet.

NVIDIA Full AD104 GPU Diagram:

For the boards, the AD104-250 GPU will use a PG14 SKU 343 PCB while the AD104-251 GPU will use a PG141 SKU 345 PCB. The NVIDIA Geforce RTX 4070 Ti is also based on the PG141 (SKU 331) PCB so AIB Partners won’t have to invest as much engineering effort in the new chips.

Further, both GPUs are said to feature 200W TGP but that will definitely change. Now in production plan, AD104-250 GPU SKU will be the first to reach production in the second half of February, followed by AD104-251 SKU which will reach mass production by the second half of March. There is currently no shelf date mentioned for each card but it will likely be in the second half of 2023, around Computex 2023.

Previous leaks hinted at similar specifications with NVIDIA The GeForce RTX 4070 card Rocking 5888 CUDA cores, 12GB GDDR6X VRAM clocked at 21Gbps, 36MB L2 cache, and 250W TGP while RTX 4060 Ti It was suggested to feature the AD106 GPU but it looks like this may or may not happen. The information we received is very recent so it’s possible that the old spec was also correct but a lot has happened since then such as Not divorced RTX 4080 12 GB, rebranded as 4070 Ti. I suggest our readers treat this information as rumor for now, but we’ll do our best to get more information out in the coming weeks once production begins on the new AD104 GPUs.
