Biden talks about accomplishments is the message Democrats are ‘worst performers,’ say polls

A veteran pollster is sounding the alarm at Democrats’ messages, particularly from President Biden, The party could be severely hampered ahead of the midterm elections, according to a Politico report.

Stan Greenberg, who was a pollster for President Bill Clinton and is married to Rep. Rosa DeLoro, a Democrat from Connector, told the media that Biden’s attempts to highlight his accomplishments in office as a way to mobilize his base adverse effect on voters.

Greenberg said he was alerting the Democratic Party that his firm belief that voters needed to hear more about his accomplishments was inaccurate.

“This has tremendous power,” he said. “And we have a message of complacency about how much we’ve accomplished rather than focusing on what happens to people.”

Greenberg said it’s not about ignoring Democrats’ accomplishments, but he said the party and Biden need to promote what they’ve achieved by showing how his policies help people in their daily lives and not as a way to brag about internal records.

The pollster, who has been assessing the ineffective midterm messaging for Democrats since 1994 when Republicans swept the House and Senate for the first time since 1952, said Biden made some changes to the messaging but said it wasn’t good enough.

“I saw their pictures when they were campaigning with the West and they talked about helping families at great costs,” he told Politico. “They’ve shifted their treatment, but they also put it together with a message of how amazing the work they do is.”
