Stan Greenberg, who was a pollster for President Bill Clinton and is married to Rep. Rosa DeLoro, a Democrat from Connector, told the media that Biden’s attempts to highlight his accomplishments in office as a way to mobilize his base adverse effect on voters.
“It’s our worst performing letter,” he told Politico. West Wing Playbook, Which focuses on the ins and outs of the White House.
Greenberg said he was alerting the Democratic Party that his firm belief that voters needed to hear more about his accomplishments was inaccurate.
“I tested it,” he added, noting that Democrats Looks like he lost the polls After Biden’s speeches in which he listed accomplishments rather than policy goals.
“I’m amazed at how much Democratic commentary you’re getting out of hand,” Greenberg told PlayBook. “[Republicans are] It hit us with crime, borders and inflation.”
“This has tremendous power,” he said. “And we have a message of complacency about how much we’ve accomplished rather than focusing on what happens to people.”
Greenberg said it’s not about ignoring Democrats’ accomplishments, but he said the party and Biden need to promote what they’ve achieved by showing how his policies help people in their daily lives and not as a way to brag about internal records.
The pollster, who has been assessing the ineffective midterm messaging for Democrats since 1994 when Republicans swept the House and Senate for the first time since 1952, said Biden made some changes to the messaging but said it wasn’t good enough.
“I saw their pictures when they were campaigning with the West and they talked about helping families at great costs,” he told Politico. “They’ve shifted their treatment, but they also put it together with a message of how amazing the work they do is.”
