Announcing this week’s Nintendo Direct

Nintendo has announced that the Nintendo Direct will take place at 7am PT / 3pm in the UK on June 21st.

Nintendo said the live stream lasts about 40 minutes, and focuses “primarily” on Nintendo Switch games coming out this year, including new details on Pikmin 4.

This is the third Nintendo Direct we’ve been getting this year and the second primarily focused on games coming to Nintendo Switch. In February, the first Nintendo Direct of the year gave us information on the games that were coming out in the first half of the year, like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. While the Nintendo Direct in March 2023 focused on the Super Mario Bros. movie.

Nintendo’s slim release slate for the rest of 2023 includes Everybody 1-2 Switch on June 30, Pikmin 4 in July, and the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero that will launch this fall with Part 1: The Teal Mask. In May, Nintendo quashed rumors about its new hardware, whether it be the long-rumored Switch Pro or otherwise, by announcing that the Switch’s successor wouldn’t be released until April 2024 at the earliest.
