A 33-year-old mother was killed when an out-of-control Jeep plowed into a crowd at a Michigan track race, pushing her two-year-old daughter to safety moments before the attack.

A Michigan mother saved her two-year-old daughter’s life before she was killed by an out-of-control Jeep at a drag racing event.

Sunday’s crash happened in the sand dunes of Silver Lake State Park in western Oceana County, about 270 miles northwest of Detroit.

Katie Price, 33, was in the crowd at a drag-racing event in the hills with her family.

Police said the driver of a modified 1980 Jeep CJ lost control, swerved into the crowd and struck another vehicle.

The other vehicle, which was stopped at the time of the collision, then struck Price, but not before he pushed his daughter to safety.

Many people who saw this immediately tried to help the price.

Silver Lake State Park rangers and staff came to his side and tried to administer first aid but to no avail.

The accident took place at 11.37 am. Price was pronounced dead a short time later.

However, her daughter managed to avoid serious injury or worse, police said.

“Please keep the Price family in your prayers,” the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

The driver of the jeep that caused the accident has been identified as a 64-year-old man.

However, his name has been withheld as the investigation is ongoing.

The 3,000-acre state park runs along the shores of Lake Michigan and includes about 2,000 acres of sand dunes.

The dunes also have a significant amount of space for those who like to drive off-road recreational vehicles.

Two off-roaders racing at the track on Sunday described the horror of the crash and the stunned silence of onlookers.

“I’ve been coming here for a long time,” Bryce Straubel said tree. ‘It was one of the worst accidents I’ve ever seen.’

“It breaks me,” he added. ‘People come out here to have a good time and this mother lost her life. … She pushed her out of the way to save her daughter — that’s hard to hear. that is truth.’

Off-roaders Bryce Straubel and Paul Stanczak were out at the track racing Sunday and witnessed the aftermath of the crash. They said people watched quietly as first responders dealt with the scene.

Things returned to normal in the hills on Monday, with less than expected crowds plying vehicles and motorcycles.

Price worked as an auto finance sales representative for Huntington National Bank.

Her husband, Kent County Sheriff’s Deputy Charlie Price, posted a photo of them together on his Facebook page Monday with only a heart emoji in the caption.
