A 33-year-old mother was killed when an out-of-control Jeep plowed into a crowd at a Michigan track race, pushing her two-year-old daughter to safety moments before the attack.

A Michigan mother saved her two-year-old daughter’s life before she was killed by an out-of-control Jeep at a drag racing event.

Sunday’s crash happened in the sand dunes of Silver Lake State Park in western Oceana County, about 270 miles northwest of Detroit.

Katie Price, 33, was in the crowd at a drag-racing event in the hills with her family.

Police said the driver of a modified 1980 Jeep CJ lost control, swerved into the crowd and struck another vehicle.

The other vehicle, which was stopped at the time of the collision, then struck Price, but not before he pushed his daughter to safety.

Many people who saw this immediately tried to help the price.

Silver Lake State Park rangers and staff came to his side and tried to administer first aid but to no avail.

The accident took place at 11.37 am. Price was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver of the jeep that caused the accident has been identified as a 64-year-old man.

Two off-roaders racing at the track on Sunday described the horror of the crash and the stunned silence of onlookers.

Price worked as an auto finance sales representative for Huntington National Bank.
