SteelSound 3H Gaming Headset Review - Conclusions

Overall I was very impressed with the SteelSound 3H Gaming Headset.  It performed exactly as advertised. I have to give credit to the crew over at SteelSeries for producing a great product.

The audio playback was superb and is a definite match for any other product in its class. I’ve heard $100 speakers with worse sound quality.

The audio recording was also very good. As I demonstrated, the microphone in the 3H has a great balance between sensitivity and background filtering.

The cable has very durable unions. There’s a Y near the connector end where the audio input and microphone connectors split off. It’s very well made and should well outlast the life of the product.

The headphone and mic jacks are black and red, respectively. I would have expected the standard green and pink. I guess maybe they’re assuming an avid gamer would have no problem knowing which was which. The painted rings on the jacks themselves are the correct color.

I’d have to say that this is the best headset I’ve come across to date. It’s found a permanent home on my desk. Whether you’re a dedicated gamer or a business man on the go and you’re looking for a headset that will give you flawless performance and great portability, then the SteelSound 3H will probably fit your needs perfectly.

I give the SteelSound 3H a 9/10 and the Dev Hardware Gold Award.

I’d like to thank everyone over at SteelSeries for giving us the opportunity to review this product.
