The separation between these two low latency modules is only 3 hundredths of a second. Talk about evenly matched!

The gap grows slightly but still only to eight-hundredths of a second. The difference would not be noticeable to users in any discernible way.
 
RazorLame

RazorLame is a front end GUI for the excellent LAME MP3 encoder. A 13 minute .wav file and insane preset (variable bit rate) were used in an attempt to stress the CPU and memory as much as possible.

After what was observed with this benchmark in Corsair's PC3200XL, it is impossible to tell if memory even plays much of a role in mp3 encoding.
