    Logitech QuickCam Sphere/Orbit MP Review

In this article I'll be looking at the Logitech QuickCam Sphere MP, sometimes called the Orbit MP. Logitech are the number one choice among consumers for web cams, so does this model, one of the company's flagship cameras, stand out from the crowd? At £90 (approx $160), it is Logitech's most expensive camera, but definitely seems to be aimed at the high end of the home market rather than the low end of the professional market.

The box and contents are minimal; the QuickCam sphere itself, the manual and driver CD and the height extending stalk are all that comes with and all that's required for it to work.

Software installation (which must be carried out prior to connecting the hardware) is easy with the installation utility. It checks for and downloads the latest version of the software if applicable and guides you through the installation quickly and painlessly. It prompts you to connect the device when it's ready, and had no problem picking up the device once I had.

Once the cam has been installed, video-enabled applications such as Skype begin to detect it and may pop up asking you to confirm settings. At the same time, the Logitech software was launched and configuration of this also begins. There is a wizard that guides you through setting up the integrated microphone, which takes just a moment to complete.
