Sky Hawk IMC6371 SFF PC Review - Doom 3

Granted that the IS7-E setup has an advantage in Doom 3 with the stronger memory performance and 6800 graphics card, I didn't expect much of a strong comparison between it and the IMC6371. Even with the huge disparity in resolution, the IS7 setup still puts out nearly twice the performance.

The lesson to be learned here is if you want top of the line Doom 3 performance on the IMC6371, you'd better make sure you're running a newer graphics card. Any 6800 will not fit in the IMC6371, so it looks like IMC6371 users are limited to the ATI camp. Still, 28.1 average fps on demo1 is quite respectable however, and I had no problems playing D3 at this resolution and speed on my big screen.

Although I didn't benchmark Half-Life 2, the IMC6371 as tested performed very well. Valve did a great job optimizing the game for all setups. Overall, the IMC6371 put up performance numbers that are expected of a Springdale setup. Intel's 865 chipset strikes a good balance between price and performance, and the IMC6371 takes full advantage of this.
