    Recently, I was given the opportunity to build my computer illiteratefriend a new home PC. His only conditions were: a) the "computer" mustbe small and black and b) the computer must be quiet. Notice how theonly two specifications given were visual and audio aesthetics? It'sinteresting to see what actually factors in to the general population'sthinking when considering a new PC, opposed to the 800MHz FSB, dualchannel memory, vcore and vdimm options, etc. the rest of us look for.After a bit of searching over the internet, I settled on a black, cubeSFF barebones unit. Enter the Jetway MiniQ 460B, which we will beexamining today.

    Introduction

    Contraryto popular belief, SFF cases have actually been around for quite sometime. They've been aimed at the group of home users who generally arenot too knowledgeable in the building and customization of PCs; theniche in the industry that just wants a small, unobtrusive personalcomputer capable of simple word processing and web surfing. Onlyrecently has the "cube" small form factor design taken off. And whilecomputer enthusiasts' interest in SFF have soared, it's important tokeep in perspective the market SFF PCs were originally designed for.
