Zach Wilson's girlfriend is excited about his next NFL chapter.
Hours after news broke Monday that the former first-round pick had been traded from the Jets to the Broncos as part of a late-round pick swap, Nicolette Delano took to her Instagram Story to celebrate her boyfriend's move to Denver.
Resharing a post from the NFL's Instagram page highlighting the Wilson trade, Dellanno added a trio of orange heart emojis to her story, a nod to the Broncos' colors.
Just like Dellanno — a model from New Jersey who was first linked to the quarterback in 2022 — Wilson's family had a jubilant reaction to Monday's news, which came less than two months after Jets general manager Joe Douglas allowed him to seek a trade. .
“Excited for a new start. Let's go!” Wilson's mother Lisa posted in an Instagram Story, which featured her 24-year-old son dressed in a Broncos uniform.
She added in a separate post: “Surround yourself with people [that] I love you, I encourage you, and I want you to succeed.”
It's been a tumultuous time in New York for Wilson, who was taken second overall in 2021.
He posted a 12-21 record with the Jets.
Although he was expected to sit out 2023 when the Jets acquired future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers from the Packers, Wilson was thrust into the action in Week 1 after the four-time league MVP tore his Achilles tendon in four Only plays in his Jets career.
Wilson was benched late in the season but returned for a dominant 30-6 win over the Texans in Week 14, perhaps his best performance as a Jet.
He started the next week against the Dolphins before exiting early with a head injury in the crushing 30-0 loss.
It will be Wilson's final game in a Jets uniform.
Now a member of the Broncos — who took a seventh-round pick (No. 256) from the Jets, who in turn took a sixth-round pick (No. 203) — Wilson enters an organization that has many questions surrounding the quarterback position.
Although the Broncos have journeyman players Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci, Denver is widely expected to be in the mix for a quarterback as the 2024 NFL Draft begins on Thursday.
Former Oregon State quarterback Bo Nix could be targeted with the No. 12 pick, The Post's Steve Serpe predicts in his latest mock draft.
