A mysterious green goblin turned heads on the 2024 Emmys red carpet, leaving viewers wondering who was underneath the lifelike prosthetics.

The puzzling creature, wearing a green strapless dress designed by Bryn Cosplay, turned out to be “RuPaul's Drag Race” star Princess Poppy from Season 15.

The reality TV star hit the red carpet at LA Live's Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Monday, hoping to catch viewers' attention and make them look her way “in the worst possible way.” He told Entertainment Weekly.

Who was she inspired by?

Princess Poppy is inspired by many iconic figures in pop culture.

She told EW that her look showed references to Jabba the Hutt from “Star Wars” and Roz from “Monsters, Inc.” And a witch from the 1985 Tom Cruise movie “Legend.”

“I primarily wanted to be a slasher hag. I wanted to be so shocking that you would just have to turn around and look at me,” she explained.

Why did she wear a green goblin costume?

“I wanted to do the opposite of what is expected of you when you go to an event like this. I wanted to take fitness and turn it on its head,” Bobby told EW while on the red carpet.

“I wanted to be a troll, walking around the Emmys literally and figuratively,” she explained. “The whole purpose of doing this is a way to show the rules of fashion, the rules of beauty and the bulls—I think it's nicer to show up that way rather than to show how you normally do at an awards show.”

Poppy, who appeared on Season 15 of Drag Race last year, joined her co-stars on stage when RuPaul accepted the award for Outstanding Reality Competition Program.
