Fitzpatrick turned his tee shot into the 6th, but despite the ball being green he was left with a terrible 66-foot puddle on the slope towards the front right edge. He gives it a great look, but it crosses the flag and runs a nice 5 feet. That was his first bogey of the day when he returned to the top of the mountain lips.
At age 8, Scheffler took his second place in 5th touch fat.

It starts to look like two horse races between Scheffler and Fitzpatrick.
Jalatoris is able to put himself back in the rearview mirror with an amazing tee shot at least in 6th place. It should be a simple hit to get him back to -3, however, there is usually no nonsense stroke of the Americans.

Fitzpatrick regains two puddles for the bird and a share in the lead.
Scheffler was unable to get close to his second in 7th place and he had to return to parity. He quickly makes amends with a big drive on the Bar-5 8th Fairway.

What a shot Matt Fitzpatrick! After missing the green in the fifth place to run, Rahm angrily jumps with a bogeyman, and the Englishman goes straight to the big stick and finds the middle of the green. He will be 24 feet to the eagle and will definitely reunite with Scheffler at the top of the leaderboard.

Meanwhile, McLaren’s roller coaster has no signs of slowing down. He had three birds and two boogie in six holes and is now pulling his drive to thicker stuff in 7th place. Rough craps in his club and his attitude is short and left. The pitch is not good from a reasonable bit of tattoo to work from there and he will have another tricky downward put to equal effort and save.

Scheffler scored a beautiful tee shot in 6th place, where another bird got the chance.
Rahm goes green in the short 5th place, but he pulls it badly and there will be a tricky chip in the green that is now leaning away from him.
