The trailer for Barbie shows the song “Barbie Girl” which fans described as “100%” better

Earlier this week, the trailer for the new Barbie movie was released and it instantly sent the internet into a frenzy of memes and fetishes. Yes, really.

While the trailer for the movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling may have set the internet on fire, we couldn’t help but feel that one thing was missing.

The famous “Barbie Girl” in the 1997 movie Aqua, is not heard in the trailer, nor will it appear in the film at all. In September 2022, the same band speculated that the song’s inclusion in the film would be “Cheese on Cheese” but they could understand Why the song was rejected from the Greta Gerwig movie soundtrack.

With that in mind, it would definitely be a tragedy if a bright spark on the internet didn’t find time to connect the song to the movie in some way. Well, we are happy to announce that your prayers have been answered.

We can all thank cinematographer Drew Hytt who seamlessly edited the song into the trailer. This isn’t some simple representation of song input on clips, there is actual mixing and editing going on here. It is a sight you must see.

The new version of the trailer has already been viewed over 72,000 times and it’s safe to say that people are happy.

One person wrote, “The way the background music fades out just as the dialogue begins, is just about right.”

Another said, “You’re making my Barbie movie dream come true, that’s the cherry on top for me.”

A third added, “100 percent better, I can’t wait for fans to edit the entire movie with this soundtrack.”

Barbie will be in cinemas on July 21st.
