Frisco, Texas – General Manager of the Dallas Stars Jim Neal I announce today that the club has moved forward Evgeny Dadonov from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a forward Denis Guryanov. Montreal will retain 50% of the remaining portion of Dadunov’s contract.
Dadunov, 33, scored 18 points (4-14-18) in 50 regular season contests with Montreal during the 2022-23 campaign. Among team leaders, he ranks sixth in assists (14) and seventh in points (18).
“Evgenii is a skilful striker who can play anywhere in our squad,” said Neil. “Scorching 20 or more goals in four of his previous five seasons, he’s a proven NHL-level scorer and will bolster our offensive offense.”
The forward played nine seasons in the NHL with four clubs (Florida, Ottawa, Vegas and Montreal) and amassed 283 points (128-155-283) in 463 regular season games with 19 goals. He made one appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2020 with Florida and recorded one assist (0-1-1) and seven steals in four games.
The 5-foot-11, 189-pound native of Chelyabinsk, Russia was originally selected by Florida in the third round (71st overall) of the 2007 NHL Draft.
Guryanov, 25, has scored nine points (2-7-9) in 43 regular season games with Dallas this season. In six NHL seasons, all with Dallas, the forward scored 103 points (46-57-103) in 257 regular season games.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound forward from Russia’s Togliatti was originally selected by Dallas in the first round (12th overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft.
