If you’re not familiar with Sonos, trust us when we say they offer high-end audio for the consumer market. It’s basically just a step down from the high-end audiophile gear you might see around. As such, their products are expensive, and we don’t often see a lot of good deals on them. Fortunately, we found a rare and excellent Black Friday deal on the Sonos Era 100, which actually sits at the top of our list of the best wireless speakers. Although it normally goes for $249, you can get it at Best Buy for $199, which isn’t a huge discount, but it’s more than we’ve seen in a while, so it’s worth getting it before the deal expires.
Why you should buy Sonos Era 100
The Sonos Era 100, like most wireless speakers these days, can connect to an app that gives you more functionality, like quick tuning that uses the built-in microphone to adjust the speaker’s EQ depending on the room you’re in. It works with both Android and iOS, so you don’t have to worry, although there is a more advanced mode for iOS which Digital Trend reviewer Simon Cohen found to be almost imperceptible. However, the app can be a bit fiddly when actually controlling the speaker, but fortunately, you have some face buttons on top that give you some control as well. Also, one thing to keep in mind is that this isn’t really waterproof or made for outdoor weather, so don’t expect to take it on picnics or while camping.
Sure, the Sonos Era 100 is a high-end speaker with a hefty price tag attached to it, but it’s well worth it, especially when you consider the $50 discount from Best Buy.
