The PS5 gets an automatic game clip feature that helps other players

Sony is introducing a new Community Game Help feature on the PS5 later this year that's designed to automatically create clips that can help other players. PS5 players will be able to automatically upload gameplay to help contribute to video tips provided by game developers.

The subscription experience will allow your PS5 to automatically capture a clip of the game when you complete an activity in supported titles. “It will then be reviewed by a moderator, and if approved, your video will be published as a game help tip for PlayStation players to watch, learn from, and rate.” Sabrina Meditz explainsSenior Director of Product Management for the PS5 Platform Experience.

PS5 players will receive a notification if their clip is used.

PS5 players will be able to use clips to help complete trophies or find hidden items in the game, rather than having to head to YouTube and scan videos to find help. These new community clips will be built on top of Sony's existing game help section which includes access to hints, tips and how-to videos from the developers.

Videos will be removed from your PS5 console once they are uploaded to Sony's servers, and if the clip is approved and published, you will receive a notification on your PS5 that your gameplay has now been published as a hint to help the game. No audio from your webcam, microphone, or group chat will be included in the clips. There will be a published video section where you can then remove any clips.

“Community Game Assist will start being available in select games later this year, and our goal is to expand it to as many games as possible in the future,” Meditz says.
