Street Fighter 6 released today on PS5 and PS4, and given the incredibly positive review results, along with all the pre-launch hype, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see it break some records – especially in terms of fighting games.
In fact, this is already happening.
In fact, Capcom’s latest installment broke through concurrent player records on Steam. In its immediate release window, it peaked at 65,873 players – a higher peak than any other fighting game. For context, it topped Tekken 7 with 18,966 players (despite launching on PC about a year after its console debut), Mortal Kombat 11 managed 35,147 players, and its predecessor Street Fighter V reached 14,783 players. Meanwhile, the latest Guilty Gear Strive has peaked at 31,156 players.
