It’s crazy to say, but Golden State Warriors You have First streak of wins this seasonafter hitting Cleveland Cavaliers 106-101 Friday night at Chase Center.

It was a very exciting and fun game, with the Dubs taking their best win of the season, defeating one of the best teams in the league.

Now let’s move on to the game day tradition and grade the players, considering our expectations for each player, where the letter “B” represents their average play.

Note: The league’s average (TS) real shot percentage was 56.9% entering Friday’s games.

Draymond Green

32 min, 2 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists, 1 steal, 5 fouls, 1 for 5 shot, 20.0% TS, +2

This was really the first time all year long that Green’s record was back to what it was in the last few years, and you know what? Dubs will take it. Because this was antique green. It was his best defensive performance of the year, with a landslide victory, and he also made 13 dimes as well.

Floating a late-clutch game helped the Warriors win, but prevented Dray from becoming the fourth player in NBA history to earn a goalless double.

When Green plays defense like this, the Warriors become rivals.

Grade: A-

Andrew Wiggins

37 minutes, 20 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block, 3 turns, 4 fouls, 8 for 13 shots, 1 for 4 threes, 3 for 3 free throws, 69.8% TS, -3

Quiet privilege from Wiggins in this. It was a solid defensive match from him, rebounding between all-stars Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland, and he generally looked solid in doing so.

An effective offense within the confines of the system is exactly when Dubs asks to get out of it.

30 min, 7 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 2 turns, 4 fouls, 3 for 4 shots, 1 for 1 free throws, 78.8% TS, +6

The Warriors held their own against the Cleveland core two-center lineup of Garrett Allen and Evan Mobley, and Looney was the biggest reason they did so. He even went out and hit them with a transition!

But the most important part of his game is that he played 30 minutes and seemed impressive in doing so. With James Wiseman out of the course, and the Warriors reluctant to give Green plenty of 5-minute little ball at this point in the season, Looney’s ability to play real starting minutes without fading is huge.

Grade: A

Before the game, I pointed out that Curry averages the most points per game in his career, the highest real shootout percentage of his career, and the lowest turnover of his career.

It’s pretty safe to say that this statistic will hold true for at least another day.

And after the match, Steve Kerr said something that I take as a personal snapshot of me. And accurate, at that.

Curry had another vintage performance, using an 18-point fourth quarter to pull Dubs to victory. He did a little bit of everything, from rocking opponents, to taking to the Cleveland bench while three players were in the air, to hitting the entire arena with his patented nighttime move.

He was the NBA Player of the Year this year, and his numbers are at the video game level.

He had quite a few foul troubles early on, and missed two free throws on the stretch. when these Literally The only nits you pick, you know you’re doing something right.

Steve Curry does a lot of things right.

Klay Thompson

29 minutes, 9 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 spin, 2 fouls, 3 for 13 shots, 2 for 7, free throws 1 for 2, 32.4% TS, +3

Clay continues to struggle with his attack, and still looks a long way from returning to all-star form.

At the same time, the team continues to play better when on the field. His defense was pretty poor early on in this one, but he really put him up with some strong D against Mitchell late in the game.

Grade: c

Jonathan Kuminga

4 minutes, 0 points, 2 rebounds, 2 turns, 0 for 3 shots, 0.0% TS, -1

Cominga entered the match in the first quarter and struggled quickly. His attack was too stagnant, and he again forced shots when he should have been playing the Hot Potato. Three missed shots and two four-minute laps were definitely not what the Warriors hoped he would do, and after his short stint in the first quarter, he didn’t play again.

On the other hand, I feel like the Warriors are not giving him enough time to work through some of these things. On the other hand, it was very difficult for him to go there.

Grade: D-

Anthony Lamb

24 minutes, 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 fouls, 4 for 7 shots, 2 for 5 threes, 71.4% TS, +6

I have been very critical of Lamb, but there is no possible way to criticize his playing in this game. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. He moved a lot away from the ball, and kept the ball flying when he caught it. He brought in a bunch of energy, which played decently on the defensive end of things.

I definitely haven’t seen him replace Kuminga, Moses Moody, and JaMychal Green in the spin, and it probably won’t last forever, but he’s definitely awesome now.

Donte Divincenzo

16 min, 0 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 1 spin, 3 fouls, shot 0 vs 1, 0 vs 1 triple, 0.0% TS, +3

DiVincenzo got a little bit of rust after not playing for about three weeks. He was mostly visible on the defensive side, where he had some bad mistakes.

But I thought it showed why the Warriors invested in him this season. Even without the stats, DiVincenzo just helped the bench unit—too bad all year long—play career basketball. He stated on Wednesday that his goal was to help push Jordan Paul, and it was very clear in this game that he was a big part of why Paul actually started.

This in and of itself is worth the money.

B-grade

Jordan Paul

34 min, 18 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 turns, 2 fouls, 6 for 13 shots, 4 for 8, free throws 2 for 2, 64.9% TS, +2

Ah, here we go, JB. It’s amazing how some efficient defense and a Poole party instantly make warriors look like competitors again.

Paul finished with strong numbers, but his biggest impact was keeping offense afloat in the second quarter when Curry got into a nasty problem. That’s exactly what the Warriors needed to be, and in the fourth quarter they couldn’t get him off the field.
