The only thing that got King through his difficult first year as king

King Charles has had a turbulent first year as king, but there is one thing that has kept him going, according to a royal expert.

Former BBC Royal correspondent Jenny Bond told OK! The magazine: “We are told that he spent the weekend at Highgrove gardening and meditating. Gardening is a great way to reflect on life and all it brings.

“The King is clearly upset and frustrated by the way his cancer diagnosis has stopped him.

“But this is the time of year when the garden bursts with life and colour; “There is new growth everywhere, and with that comes new hope.”

Bond added: “His doctors are delighted with his progress, and although he is very concerned about his beloved daughter-in-law, Katherine, he can relax knowing that she has finally had the peace and privacy she has asked for.”
