At the airport, as the Royal Scottish Regiment looked on, dressed in ceremonial skirts, a group of RAF carriers slowly carried the coffin onto the plane.

“This morning we went to the actual rehearsal for Her Majesty’s coffin going into Westminster Hall. It was heartbreaking, to celebrate the occasion,” Grace told the BBC. “I think the whole nation would be sad and a flood of tears. We were.”
“This is how we want to respect the Queen, who has done such a great service to the country, the Commonwealth and the world,” Vanessa said.
The coffin will be transported by eagle to Buckingham Palace in the heart of the capital. On Wednesday, the Queen’s coffin will be carried in a procession a short distance from the palace to Westminster Hall, where the late Queen will remain in her state until her state funeral on Monday.
King Charles III, along with his wife Camilla, consort of the Queen, were visiting Belfast, Northern Ireland, on Tuesday. They will meet politicians and religious leaders and attend mass at St Anne’s Cathedral before returning to London later in the day.
