NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 3DMark leak shows 18% increase over RTX 4070

NVIDIA RTX 4070 SUPER 3DMark test leaked

We got a first look at the first SUPER GPU of this generation.

Tomorrow marks the end of the ban on NVIDIA's RTX 4070 SUPER reviews (at least some of them). This card is powered by the AD104 GPU which has 7168 CUDA cores, which is almost the entire implementation of this GPU. As a result of this update, the SUPER SKU will have approximately 22% more cores than the RTX 4070, which has 5888 cores. It is worth noting that despite the increase in cores, the memory configuration remains unchanged at 12GB GDDR6X. Initial information from ongoing tests, especially in 3DMark performance, is scheduled to be revealed tomorrow. Today we take a quick look at those standards.

As a reminder, tomorrow's lifting of the ban imposed by NVIDIA will specifically cover “MSRP” models, which refers to cards priced according to NVIDIA's recommendations. The focus will be on basic models, which often lack factory overclocking. In the comparison below, we're looking at the RTX 4070 SUPER and the non-SUPER version, both Founders Edition.

It's important to note that the RTX 4070 SUPER has a default TDP of 220W, and in the case of the Founders Edition, the power can be adjusted up to 240W. As mentioned earlier, some models like the MSI GAMING X SLIM will have a 245W TDP out of the box, allowing the card to boost higher and deliver higher performance.

When it comes to standards. In short, the RTX 4070 SUPER is 7% slower than the RTX 4070 Ti and 18% faster than the RTX 4070 in these tests on average. The SUPER model is 15% to 19% faster than the RTX 4070 and 8% to 5% slower than the Ti version.

One must remember that NVIDIA will be phasing out the RTX 4070 Ti model once the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER launches next week. At the same time, the RTX 4070 SUPER will not be replaced by the RTX 4070. Instead, the latter will receive an official price adjustment to $549, a price that has been roughly the price of many 4070 consoles for weeks.

The RTX 4070 SUPER is scheduled to launch on January 17. On the same day, NVIDIA will lift the ban on 'OC' aka models that will cost more than the NVIDIA MSRP. If you're interested in gaming benchmarks, we encourage you to wait for our review report tomorrow. It will contain tests from other media in a more comprehensive format.
