The controversies surrounding Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter and his late brother Aaron Carter will be the subject of an upcoming docu-series titled “Discovery Investigation.”
The four-part show is scheduled to debut over two nights from May 27 on ID and Max, and follows the success of the cable network Quiet on the Set: The Dark Side of Children's Television, about former Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider. Documentary series Fallen Idols: Nick and Aaron Carter We will remember the massive fame the Carter Brothers achieved in the late 1990s and early 2000s before the headline struggles of recent years.
The ID series will explore the sexual assault accusations against Nick Carter by three women, while also diving into his brother Aaron Carter's struggles with mental health and substance abuse — and the rift that occurred after Aaron decided to support his brother's accusers. “Fallen Idols: Nick and Aaron Carter “Not only does it provide a deeper understanding of the allegations, but it also chronicles the backlash Nick's accusers have faced since their decision to speak out and the lasting impact it has had on their lives,” ID said in its press release about the series.
“Fallen idols “Explores the dark side of fame and fraught family dynamics, but also the extreme challenges faced by accusers who come forward against celebrities and pop culture icons in today's modern world,” ID adds.
Aaron Carter enjoyed fame at an early age as a singer and television personality before his death in November 2022 at the age of 34. In April 2023, Nick Carter was sued for sexual assault and battery by Melissa Shuman, a former member of the pop group Dream. Featuring exclusive interviews with Schumann, R. W dung, The accusations against Nick Carter will be accompanied by revelations about the backlash the accusers have faced since their decision to speak out, according to the series' producers.
The docuseries also promises first-hand reports from a member of the Carter family and close family friends, including Nick's ex-girlfriend Kaya Jones and Aaron's ex-fiancée Melanie Martin.
