A Louisiana woman who died after being trapped in the freezer at Arby’s was reported to have been a widowed mother of four on temporary assignment for the fast food chain.

Nguyet Lee, 63, worked as the general manager for Arby’s and was opening the restaurant in New Iberia, La. , about 30 minutes south of Lafayette, when she somehow got stuck inside a refrigerator on May 11 “and bloodied her hands as she tried to escape,” her family said in a lawsuit filed this week.

Lu used to work for the Houston Arbys but moved out for a month at the company’s request. McClatchy News Service said. Then the mission was extended to Louisiana.

No foul play suspected in Lee’s death, her lawyers said in a press releaseindicating that the temperature inside the freezer likely ranged from 5 to -20 degrees.

It is unclear how long Lou was in the freezer before she was found. She died of hypothermia, being kept in the freezer for too long, the newspaper said, citing court papers, “collapsing in the fetal position face down on the frozen floor.”

Lou’s body was discovered by her son Nguyen who also worked for Arby’s and moved to Louisiana with his mother.

McClatchy reports that a former employee told the family that the freezer door latch had been broken for several months.
