Boone said Rizzo “can’t do much” now because of the headaches once he wakes up. Rizzo has been down since the beginning of August, scoring .208/.299/.442, but has hit .225/.339/.493 overall with 30 Homer this season.
With Guzman not on the 40-player roster, the Yankees will need to make a similar move ahead of Wednesday’s games. In 90 games this season for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Raiders, Guzman has netted .260/.357/.466 with 12 headers.
Boone also said player DJ Limaheu He will need some time off while dealing with the toe problem, adding that he would not have played in Tuesday’s game. Boone said LeMahieu’s toe injury affected his strength on the board and not something that would improve with a few days of rest. He will need time off season.
