Michael Bolton is recovering from a brain tumor and emergency surgery

Michael Bolton has revealed that he recently underwent emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor and has subsequently canceled his expected tour dates.

The singer posted on Instagram Later that year he learned of the tumor and needed immediate action. “Just before the holidays, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor that required immediate surgery,” she wrote. “Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success. I am now recovering at home and surrounded by the incredible love and support of my family.

Bolton, 70, was scheduled to hit the road in early February, with international dates scheduled throughout the year. But he says he needs time to recover from the surgery, hoping he'll be ready to resume performing live.

“For the next two months, I will be devoting my time and energy to my recovery, which means taking a temporary break from touring,” he said. “It is always difficult for me to disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but there is no doubt that I will work hard to speed up my recovery and perform again soon. I am grateful for all the love and support you have generously shown me over the years. Please know that I keep your positive news in my heart and will give you more updates as soon as I can.

Throughout his career, Bolton has sold more than 65 million records worldwide and had nine number-one singles and top ten albums. Last July, he released “Spark of Light,” his first album of original music he's co-written in nearly 15 years. Outside of music, she competed on “The Masked Singer” in both 2021 and 2023, and last year she made a guest appearance on two episodes of “Aquafina is Nora from Queens.”
