James Corden’s recent public controversy hasn’t gone the way one might think.
On Sunday, the former “Late Late Show” host, 45, was filmed berating a British Airways employee after a turbulent flight from Faore, Portugal, to the UK — and other passengers rallied around him, insisting he was right .
This is a change from his previous general skirmishes.
Corden has made headlines in the past for being “rude” to staff at Balthazar restaurant, which led to popular Big Apple restaurateur Keith McNally banning him from the downtown hotspot due to his behavior.

According to her account, passengers were told they no longer had to prepare, but they still spent three hours on the tarmac in Lisbon before the plane was taken out of service.
Corden, who had to publicly apologize for his behavior at Balthazar after owner Keith McNally called him a “stupid little man” and “the most abusive customer to Balthazar’s servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago,” allegedly kept passengers entertained during the flight. This is an arduous ordeal, according to Vanessa.
“He was walking up and down the hallways talking to people, letting everyone take a selfie with him,” she said.

Vanessa claimed that Corden confronted an employee after passengers left the plane in Lisbon, because the passengers were directed to the wrong line.
“Then British Airways finally let us off the plane,” she recalls. “We were in the arrivals hall and no member of the BA staff was to be found. They put us in immigration lines. There was no one to tell us what was going on.”
She defended his behavior as photos showed Corden appearing to be having a heated verbal confrontation with airline employees.
“The people he’s talking to in that picture are the cabin crew on our plane. I saw him fist bump the pilot as he got off the plane, and he said, ‘Thank you very much.’
“James was a club pilot and he stood there and was like, ‘What about all these people who have all these kids with them?’ Saying this is unacceptable. She claimed that was not true, adding that Corden “stood in the same line as everyone else, and did the same things that everyone else did.”
