iRacing acquires license to produce NASCAR console games

In a significant development for the NASCAR video game product, iRacing has acquired the license to produce NASCAR console games from Motorsport Games. The license transfer brings control of NASCAR’s console gaming properties under the roof of iRacing, which has controlled the series’ PC gaming property for more than a decade.

Motorsport Games has failed to produce a video game for a NASCAR console since October 2021. Content from the 2022 season, including next-gen cars, was released as an addition to nascar 21: ignition, The latest video game for the NASCAR console.

iRacing has steadily grown as one of NASCAR’s most important partners, and the game developers’ continued oversight of the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series makes its acquisition of the license one of the best results NASCAR could have asked for.
