Samoa Joe has two title defenses this week. The first was on December 7th dynamitewhere he put the TNT Championship on the line against Darby Allen.
It was all Joe at first, with the hero tossing Darby around like the proverbial rag doll. His signature dive was avoided, and Joe followed that up by slamming Allen into concrete below the side mats in the ring.
This was a fun stretch that allowed the two men to show off some of what they do best – Joe delivers punishment, and Darby sells like death. It also marked his signature comeback.
He was looking forward to completing that comeback with Coffin Drop, but the champ was ready. He positioned himself to catch Allen in Coquina’s handbag. Darby was very proud of the pressure, but it was already out, and referee Bryce Remsberg had to call him out.
Darby appeared again after the bell, and Joe didn’t like it at all. He responded by putting Allin’s skateboard on the track, and Muscle Buster spun him right on the wheels!
Darby does a lot of painful chess, but OWWWWW!
Wardlaw ran in to save the day, continuing to build to a one-on-one match with Joe in an attempt to win back his belt. Before that, Joe has to defend his Ring of Honor Television title on Saturday in Final Battle against Juice Robinson. And Darby will need an ice bath and some envelope.
