Gwyneth Paltrow has issued a plea to Marvel fans everywhere.
On Wednesday, the Goop founder answered questions from her followers on her Instagram story and responded to an emotional post that demanded Paltrow “answer the question” about why she should stop appearing in Marvel movies.
“Oh. Me. God. Stop yelling at me,” Paltrow jokes in her video response, continuing, “We stopped doing that because Iron Man died.”
She continued to ask, “Why do you need Pepper Potts without Iron Man? I don’t know…” He then suggested to fans to “call Marvel and yell at them, not me! I’m just sitting here.”
The Oscar-winner hasn’t appeared as Potts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame” – the movie in which Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), aka Tony Stark, died.
Paltrow first appeared as Potts, Stark’s personal assistant turned love interest, in 2008’s “Iron Man,” and went on to portray the character for more than a decade in two “Iron Man” and three “Iron Man” sequels. Movies “Avengers”.
She also appeared as Potts in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, but gleefully admitted to Iron Man director Jon Faverau and celebrity chef Roy Choi that she I didn’t even remember Being in the Tom Holland-led movie during the 2019 episode of “The Chef Show” on Netflix.
Despite her fuzzy memory and Stark’s death, Paltrow suggested she’s open to the idea of returning to the MCU earlier this year while speaking with Scarlett Johansson (aka Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff) on Job podcast.
“I mean I’m not dead, so I guess they can always ask me (to come back),” she said.
So, can we get this number for Marvel? We’d like to make a call…
