Microsoft is bringing tabs to File Explorer in Windows 11 soon, with an updated design that makes it easier to quickly access folders or locate favorite files. There are also advanced partitioning options for files, with an updated partition dialog that lets you send recent contacts or groups to applications such as Outlook and OneDrive.
It is not clear when we will see this updated file explorer. Microsoft is teasing it as part of the Windows 11 upgrade, and the company has not yet confirmed a release date. Like many of Microsoft’s new Windows 11 features, the updated File Explorer may come with a monthly update to the operating system.
