Comedian Pete Davidson pleads guilty to careless driving after Beverly Hills crash

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles prosecutors have charged former “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson with… Three months after reckless driving on Friday, he crashed into his Beverly Hills home.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed a misdemeanor count of reckless driving against the actor and writer. But details about the March 4 confrontation in Beverly Hills have not been released.

“We believe Mr. Davidson was driving recklessly, which resulted in him being involved in a violent collision inside the home,” the DA’s office wrote. “Fortunately, no one was seriously injured as a result of this collision.”

Davidson’s trial is set for July 27. His representatives and Beverly Hills police did not immediately return requests for comment.

Prosecutors used the high-profile case to highlight the “catastrophic consequences” of careless driving.

“By 2022, traffic deaths in Los Angeles will reach a 20-year high,” the office wrote in its report. “This is an alarming trend that we cannot afford to ignore. As a result, it is vital that we take all allegations of careless driving seriously and hold those responsible accountable.

Davidson’s latest show, “Pubkiss,” debuted at the Peacock last month.
