Charlie Morton, the Braves are looking to complete their sweep of the Dodgers

After another thrilling win Saturday night, the Atlanta Braves will attempt to complete the sweep as they wrap up a four-game series with Los Angeles Dodgers Sunday afternoon at Dodger Stadium. The Braves are 8-1 in their current wild ride and have opened seven games over the Dodgers for the best record in the National League.

Charlie Morton will start for Atlanta at the end of the series. After a difficult period at the end of July, Morton found himself out and has been out for his last four matches allowing just one run over his last 24 innings. He had 33 strikeouts and 11 walks during that span. Seven of those walks came in one game against mets On August 11th. Morton faced the Dodgers again in May and struggled to allow seven hits and six runs in five innings pitched.

The Dodgers will face rookie right fielder Bobby Miller who is making his 17th start of the season. Miller allowed seven hits and four runs in six innings pitched in his final start against diamondbacks. He has allowed 13 hits and eight runs over his last 12 1/3 innings pitched. He made his major league debut against the Braves at Truist Park again on May 23 and was impressive allowing just one run over five innings to go along with five hits.

Ronald Acuña Jr. homered again on Saturday to give the Braves an early lead. Acuña pitched in all three games of the series and stole two bases bringing his season totals to 32 home runs and 63 stolen bases. He just needs nine more steals to tie Otis Nixon’s modern franchise record of 72 steals. Acuña also scored 123 points on the season and is just eight short of tying Dale Murphy’s modern record for points scored.

Marcel Ozuna was unharmed on Saturday, snapping an 11-game hitting streak. He hit 0.363/.438/.717 with 10 home runs and 206 wRC+ since August 1.

Sunday’s game is scheduled to start at 4:10 PM ET and can be watched on Bally Sports South.
