“We’re now living in this kind of sea of ​​smartphone sameness,” said Ben Wood, senior analyst at technology research firm CCS Insight.

“I think we’ve moved to a point now with cell phones where people aren’t so quick to say, ‘I really want to get this new phone,’” Wood said. “In a lot of cases, it’s almost a difficult purchase.”
