MEXICO CITY, Nov 8 (Reuters) – Apple founder Steve Wozniak was hospitalized in Mexico City on Wednesday after suffering a stroke, Mexican media said, but a TMZ report, citing sources, suggested the illness was due to severe dizziness. .
The 73-year-old scientist and technology entrepreneur was scheduled to attend a World Business Forum event in the Mexican capital’s Santa Fe neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon.
Event organizers did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Wozniak was scheduled to address the conference at 4:20 p.m. local time.
Reuters could not immediately confirm the news that Wozniak had been hospitalized.
US media outlet TMZ, citing sources with direct knowledge, said Wozniak finished his speech but told his wife he “felt weird”. He insisted that she go to the hospital.
TMZ reports that Wozniak may be suffering from vertigo.
In 1976, Wozniak co-founded the fledgling Apple computer company with his most famous business partner, Steve Jobs, the legendary investor and longtime Apple CEO who died in 2011.
Their business pioneered the personal computer and became one of the world’s most valuable companies, known for the design and operation of a range of consumer electronics, including laptop and desktop computers and the iPhone mobile phone.
