AMD claims the 8-Core Ryzen 7 7800X3D is 20% faster than the Core i9-13900K in games at 1080p

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is up to 24% faster than Core i9-13900K in games

AMD has revealed the first official benchmark results for its upcoming Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

According to slides shared by tom devicesAMD has now confirmed the official performance of its upcoming 8-core Ryzen 7 CPU with 3D V-Cache. Only a few benchmarks from the handpicked titles have been shared, so it’s definitely too early to draw final conclusions.

The 7800X3D has 8 cores, 96MB L3 cache, TDP rated at 120W and boost clock up to 5.0GHz. That’s 15W higher than the TDP of the 8-Core Ryzen 7 7700X and 400MHz lower boost clock compared to a non-X3D SKU. This CPU has been compared to the 24-core Core i9-13900K, which is the second best Raptor Lake desktop CPU from Intel. What may be important to note is that both the 7800X3D and 13900K systems are equipped with the same set of DDR5-6000 memory.

Today AMD shares 1080p gaming performance in competitive games, such as Rainbow Six Siege, Total War: Three Kingdoms, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Horizon Zero Dawn. Looking at AMD’s numbers, the 7800X3D will be 13% to 24% faster than the Core i9-13900K. On average, we are looking for 19.5% better performance, but one must remember that these are benchmarks provided by vendors, so final performance may vary.

According to AMD benchmarks, an eight-core Ryzen with Zen4 architecture 3D V-Cache will be 21% to 30% faster than the last generation Zen3 CPU with 3D V-Cache memory (5800X3D). On average, this is also an improvement of 24%. For this comparison, AMD changed three titles to Warhammer Dawn of War II, CS:GO, and DOTA2.
