Alexander Volkanovski is looking for a second title, along with Holway

LAS VEGAS – It seems Alexander Volganovsky vs. Max Holloway match ended.

UFC featherweight champion Successfully defended his belt against Holloway and a 3-0 record against Hawaii. The two fought in Saturday’s main event UFC 276 at a sold-out T-Mobile arena.

It was a dominant performance from Volkanovsky (25-1 MMA, 12-0 UFC), who has been tied with Holloway for the past three years at the top of the division.

“It’s been a bit of a journey this tournament,” Volkanovski told reporters at the UFC 276 post-fight press conference. “Taking the belt, having the rematch, those talks and everything that’s been a part of my career, it just adds to the story. It was difficult. There were a lot of ups and downs. I had something to go through, but it’s good to finally put an end to it and put a lot of people at ease.

Despite being the champion, many fans and pundits thought Holloway was still better than Volkanovsky and saw him as the uncrowned champion of the weight class. Volkanovski is confident that is now a thing of the past and wants to move on to bigger things.

Volkanovsky revealed that he may have suffered a broken arm in the fight. The injury may affect the timeline of his goals, but not change them.

“(My arm) is seeing what’s going on,” Volkanovsky said. “It gives me time to see what’s going on and see what’s going on in my division. I want to be active, but if it’s not opponents, injuries can slow me down a little bit. But other than that, I need to be active and I want that dual champ status. . Like I said, I can be active and I’ve proven that. What’s that, three fights in nine months? I fought three months ago, and a lot of champions don’t do that. I don’t think I can get a No. 1 contender that early and keep me busy, so Give me another section.
