In his post, Young called on his managers and the record label to remove his music from Spotify because the music and podcast site “spreads false information about vaccines – which could be fatal to those who believe they spread this false information”. (Rolling Stone first reported the text of the post.)
According to Rolling Stone, the 76-year-old Rolling Stone said, “I would like to immediately inform Spotify that I want all my music from their platform.” “They can be Rogan or Young. Neither.”
Rogan has often made false and misleading claims about vaccines and Govt-19 on his podcast. Earlier this month, a group of more than 250 scientists, doctors and nurses wrote an open letter to Spotify, condemning the streamer for platforming Rogan and calling on Spotify to warn anyone who listens to false information.
According to Variety, “The Joe Rogan Experience” will be Spotify’s most popular podcast worldwide in 2021. When Rogan signed a multi-year exclusive license agreement with the streaming service, it became exclusively Spotify in 2020.
The manager of CNN Young approached his publicist at Warner Records and Spotify and commented.
“Total coffee junkie. Tv ninja. Unapologetic problem solver. Beer expert.”
