The Big 12 tournament kicks off Wednesday with an evening doubleheader featuring two teams vying for NCAA tournament berths as Texas Tech takes on West Virginia with Bedlam basketball closing the night board. The action kicks off at 7 p.m. ET with the No. 8 seed Mountaineers swinging closely on the bubble, but the 11 seed is expected to be teetering in Jerry Palm’s latest bracket, delivering a test from the No. 9 seed Red Raiders in the opener.
At 9:30 p.m. at the T-Mobile Center, No. 7 seed Oklahoma State looks to fend off No. 10 seed Oklahoma in the Opening Day finale. The Cowboys, who have lost five of their last six, are among the last four out of the field according to Palm, but a win over the Sooners could turn their momentum into a potential championship berth.
This is only a small part of the drama ahead this week in Kansas City as National Champion Kansas tries to win the championship title after winning the regular season title, and No. 3 seed Kansas State attempts to play a spoiler from the bottom of the bracket. And Baylor is in a position to spoil the party too after the big seasons.
