Well for christmas I recieved a norwood micro 17" lcd monitor. It has a listed latency time of 12m/s and can be had for a mere 250 dollars from compusa.com. My dad bought the monitor before christmas for 350 and after christmas sales offered 50 dollar instant rebate and 50 mail in. Sorry if this seems like a hot deals post so far, but price was one of the pros for this monitor.
The first thing I did was test the monitor in an online game of Call of duty UO. I couldnt see any sort of ghosting, afterglow, or blurriness.
When I tried the monitor out playing a single player game of medal of honor Pacific assault

. There was a lot of blurriness when shooting a mounted machine gun for 2 or more seconds. Im not sure if this is a special effect for the game or the monitor blurring. Pacific Assault imo was a huge dissapointment. I tried it for half an hour and I am not going to try again. I dont like the feel of the new engine and how the enemy moves and attacks. Im sticking to COD.
Back to the monitor, one thing i noticed about the monitor was picture quality. I dont know how to describe it and i dont have another lcd to compare it to, but the quality of some colors and textures look a bit off. even when surfing the web, colors and quality isnt the best. When gaming, the monitor feels a little bit different that a crt, but i quickly got used to it. Overalll i am completely satisfied with this LCD, especially for the awesome price its unbeatable. Picture quality and colors are a bit off but im not going to complain anymore because it is no big deal. It is very bright compared to my old nec FE771sb which is right next to it running dual screen.
I will admit i was a bit dissapointed when I didnt receive the famed viewsonic 20.1 inch monster. I didnt want to ask for that because it is pretty expensive. If you are looking for an lcd that will put out strong and keep up with your gaming the norwood does a great job. with 12ms response time and 17 inches of viewing pleasure 250 dollars is a steal. Heck, you can get two of these bad boys and still have cash to spare instead of spending 700-800 dollars on those samsungs and viewsonics.
