    PowerColor X1300 512MB GameFX

Sooner or later, everyone needs to upgrade the video in their machine. Today we will be taking a look at an X1300 512MB PCIe GameFX card by PowerColor. The X1300 is the entry level model to ATI’s Radeon X1K series, which offers a better fundamental design and better performance than the old X series.

PowerColor is a leading provider of graphics cards in the computer industry.  Established in 1997 by Tul Corporation, PowerColor offers powerful, reliable, and cost-effective solutions to their customers.  They strive to offer the best performance possible out of ATI's graphic processors.

PowerColor has four lines of cards in the X1K series.  These are the X1300, X1600, X1800, and X1900.  The fundamental differences between these cards are the number of pixel pipelines available for the card to communicate with the PCIe bus, and an increasing bus speed.  The X1300 cards offer only four pixel pipelines, whereas the X1600 cards offer 12, the X1800s offer 16, and the X1900s offer a whopping 48.

PowerColor has a number of different PCIe cards available in their X1300 line.  Today, we received the X1300 512MB. This card has 512MB of 128 bit DDR2 memory, which is pretty impressive for an entry level card.  I can remember the days when 1MB of memory on a video card was a cause for laughter, but as any current gamer can attest, those days are long gone.

No review would be complete without the specs of the product in question, so without further ado, here they are:
