Creative Inspire P380 Review – Music to Your Ears - Wires and Satellites
(Page 2 of 5 )
Out of the box you get the two satellite speakers, the subwoofer, a wired remote control, and the power adapter. The connecting cables for the satellites are fitted, meaning they just need to be connected to the sub, while the remote control takes care of connectivity between the sub and your PC. Setup is simple in light of this, taking just minutes to get unpacked and plugged in.
The satellites are shielded so that they won't distort your monitor picture or screw up other sensitive equipment when placed nearby and feature detachable grills. There are two schools of thought concerning speaker grills (three if you count those that don't know or care); one is that they contribute to the overall quality of sound delivered by the speakers by helping to distribute the sound waves evenly in all directions. The other is that they distort the sound ever so slightly due to a kind of filtering effect. I don't think it has ever definitively been proven which is correct, so whether you like to have the grills on or off your need is catered for. The satellites measure just 9cm wide, by 14cm high, by 8cm deep and are small enough to sit respectfully on all but the most crowded of desks or shelves. Additionally, each of the units features a 6cm dual driver for the treble and mid-range sound.

The connecting wires for the satellites are just over two meters long, which gives you enough flexibility and range to cater for most desktop situations. Plus the satellites are stand or wall mountable (as well as freestanding) and can be fixed at a position suitable for you.
