Swiftech MCW6002-64 and MCW50+T Waterblocks - Features
(Page 3 of 6 )
The MCW6002 has many innovative design features that give the block increased performance over many traditional waterblocks. The CPU block is a copper base with 281 thin pins, and the lid is stamped and brazed into the base of the block. The inlet and outlet are soldered into the lid. The inlet tube is also focused to increase water flow around the block. It has been pressure tested up to 25 PSI.

The waterblock base is lapped flat to 0.0005” and polished to a near mirror finish to provide optimal contact with the integrated heatspreader.

The MCW50+T uses an anodized aluminum top, the block also uses 1/2” OD tubing. Water flows directly onto the hot side of the peltier junction.
The MCW50+T is designed for a direct flow of water over the peltier to remove the heat. The anodized aluminum lid features an inlet and outlet for water to flow directly over the peltier. The MCW50+T also uses a 40x40mm 80W thermoelectric unit. The capacity of the unit is nearly 115W, so you must check with the graphics card vendor for the wattage and remain under this level to prevent damage. The thermoelectric unit also uses 6A off of the 12v line; you must add up all the amps used by other components in the system. It should be safe to power a peltier in a standard system with 20A on the +12V line. The MCW50+T has a 0.225” thick copper cold plate; when it is powered up it becomes very cold, hence the name “cold plate.” The base of the cold plate is lapped to .0003” and is given a near mirror polish. The cold plate makes contact with the graphics processor unit directly.
