Wii Copy Cats
For a gaming system that has been accused of being behind the times when it comes to graphics and other technology, the Nintendo Wii has certainly proven to be popular. It looks like it's going to stick around for a while. It can still be hard to find sometimes, however, and it's a little beyond the budget for some of us. What's a poor gamer to do? Keep reading; anything that's popular inspires copycats, and the Wii is no exception to the rule. We'll see whether these copy cats are worth playing with.
You wouldn’t think a little thing like a wire would make a big difference -- until you take it away. When the Wii first hit the market, it became a sensation. Imagine game controllers without wires! Not only do you control the game, but now you can really control the game. Nintendo quickly ran out of consoles, creating a full-scale panic as people swarmed stores to get the play they craved.
It isn’t always easy to get what we want, and though the Wii is easier to find, that doesn’t mean it’s easier for you to buy. Still don’t have the $300 to purchase a Wii console (and corresponding games) of your own? Maybe one of the popular Wii copy cats can help you achieve gaming in motion at a slightly reduced price.
Fun - No Strings Attached
The Wii arrived on the scene when more expensive consoles like Microsoft’s Xbox and the PlayStation 3 were ruling the roost. Generations of video gamers have long since grown accustomed to the idea of home gaming via wired control. You push the buttons to control the fate of your on-screen alter ego.
The Wii tried the bold idea of fewer buttons, slimmer controllers…and no wires whatsoever. The motion-control aspect of the Wii blew the public away, suddenly turning this cheaper underdog console into the next generation video gaming king. It suddenly became a gaming must-have.
When something iss this hot, others are bound to copy. But are these Wii copy cats really comparable to the real thing? Find out how the competition stacks up against the Wii…or if this console has any true competition at all.
