The Sony Cybershot DSC-W150 is a mid-range point-and-shoot digital camera that embodies the spirit of middle range point-and-shoot cameras. While the camera technically falls under the category of “ultra compact,” the DSC-W150 is a little bulkier than most at 3.7 inches wide, 2.3 inches high, and 0.9 inches deep. The technical specifications of the Cybershot DSC-W150 are about middle of the line for point-and-shoots. In the modern market, it is fairly easy to find a camera that can deliver better numbers than the 5x optical zoom and 8.1 megapixels of the DSC-W150, but you can still find cameras with worse specifications. In the end, chances are that if you are buying a point-and-shoot digital camera, then you do not really need any higher quality than the 8.1 megapixels and you would not make too much use of more than a 5x optical zoom anyway.

In terms of image quality, the DSC-W150 really is not all that great. Of course, you are not paying for top notch quality and you really should not expect it from a point-and-shoot camera anyway. Starting at $180, you cannot be surprised by the soft image features or the slight blurring under certain circumstances. In short, the Sony Cybershot DSC-W150 is a pretty decent choice if you are looking for a point-and-shoot digital camera in its price range. If you are looking for very high quality pictures and are not as concerned with features or design, then you might want to take a look at a different digital camera.
