Panasonic`s Lumix DMC-FZ8
Panasonic had their hands full trying to improve upon the DMC-FZ7, but they may have done it with the Lumix DMC-FZ8. This camera was released in March of 2007, and on the surface it looks really good. Keep reading to see what we think of it.
Introduction
The numbers really jump out at you with this camera: 7.2 megapixels and 12x optical zoom. That's right, 12x optical zoom! This camera blows away other cameras in the zoom department; its competitors boast a mere 3x optical zoom. The zoom power of this camera is definitely the highlight, but it is not the only thing the FZ8 has to offer.

I would describe this camera as being caught in between a compact and a digital SLR. It has the size of a point-and-shoot camera, but it has the shooting power of an SLR. The identity crisis of this camera seems to be a welcome feature, because it is a fresh and new idea that will impress digital camera shoppers no matter what level of experience in photography they might have.
In my opinion, one of the most impressive features of this camera is the price. With a little searching on the Internet, you can find the FZ8 for around $300 or less, which is incredible considering its power.
