The Yukyung Viliv S7 and the Dell Inspiron 14 Laptops - Dell Design
(Page 4 of 4 )
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit comes installed on the Inspiron 14. You also get Wi-Fi and a DVD burner. Unfortunately, any other goodies are going to cost you. You can upgrade if you want to have such luxuries as Bluetooth, an integrated webcam, or a Blu-ray drive.
The overall design of the Dell Inspiron 14 won’t win any awards as it keeps it simple. It is a mid-sized laptop that is simplistic in nature and comes in an obsidian black color for its base configuration. You can choose from six other lid colors, such as alpine white, ice blue or jade green for an extra $40.
Its 14-inch HD LED display with 16:9 aspect ratio and 1,366x769 resolution produces solid graphics and is good for surfing the net or watching movies. The only gripe is that the display is very glossy, so you may get the occasional reflection from other light sources in the room.
The keyboard has a nice matte finish and the keys are large and well spaced for typing. The touchpad is a good size as well, and responsive to the touch. In terms of connectivity, the standard options are present such as ports for Ethernet, VGA, USB, and audio. All of the connectivity options are located on the sides of the Inspiron 14.
The Dell Inspiron 14 is a solid piece of machinery that is a good mainstream laptop for everyday use. The main complaint that could come with this system is that if you want to configure it with a lot of extras, they could start to add up and make its price balloon. Even so, at its basic configuration, it’s a laptop that can get the job done.
