    AMD Venice - Overclocking

The newer Winchester cores flat out suck at overclocking compared to the older ones. Every once in a while you may see one overclock well, but the odds are against you. Computer enthuses have began to flock over the Venice cores. That's because the Venice overclocks in general as good as any A64 preceding it.

The above illustration shows that the Winchester core is able to clock up to around 2.45 GHz stable. This is a pretty good boost for the newer Winchester.

While the Winchester did okay, it was nothing compared to Venice. I was able to get a good 800 MHz overclock. Close to the 1000 MHz I was getting with my Pentium 4. Remember that AMD CPU’s can perform tasks near the same with a higher clocked Intel Pentium 4. The winning processor would be obvious, so I'll be doing the rest of me testing at stock speeds.
