US Open 2022: Take a look at the third major golf course of the season

Mickelson has been playing in his first event against other PGA Tour pros since February. He played in the first LIV Golf event last weekend, an appearance that baffled other professional golfers. His comments earlier in the year seemed to ignore human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia, which caused so many a backlash that he later apologized.

Lefty has reportedly received a $200 million deal to play in the Saudi-backed league. In Brooklyn, a fan shouted, “Greed is good, Phil!”

Mickelson did not speak to the media after that.

He shot 8 over 78 and finished the round tied for 144th in the field of 156 players.

He finished the round with five bogeys, two double bogeys and one jumper at 11. He’d need a miracle to make the cut and stay through the weekend.
